Buffett-Crypto Summit There are only six days until the creator of the TRON cryptocurrency, Justin Sun, will be having lunch in San Francisco with outspoken crypto-critic Warren Buffett.
Under the terms of the charity auction that Sun won with a $4.6 million bid, he can invite up to seven guests. He apparently has some slots to fill.
Sun is bringing along cryptocurrency leaders as part of an effort to build a bridge between his industry and traditional investors like Buffett.
Most recently, Circle co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire tweeted that he's "honored" to accept Sun's invitation.
Bitcoinist thinks Allaire is "just the sort of industry leader" Sun needs. "Circle is notably backed by Goldman Sachs, which is just the type of corporation that Buffett will respect."
In mid-June, Liecoin creator Charlie Lee tweeted his RSVP. And then in early July, Huobi CEO Livio Weng tweeted "Huobi will definitely be there" in response to Sun's tweet saying only Lee, Weng, and Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (known as "CZ") had been invited at that point.
In early June, CZ tweeted that while he appreciated the invitation it was "too far" to go.
Sun is promising "more friends to be announced!" He is also promising that "something HUGE will also be happening" with TRON the week of the lunch.
So, what exactly has Buffett said about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies? Here's a video clip with excerpts from Berkshire Hathaway annual meetings and CNBC interviews, covering 2013 to this year. BUFFETT AROUND THE INTERNET Some links may require a subscription
