Berkshire's Q1 stock winners and losers It's been a good first quarter for shares of Berkshire Hathaway.
The Class A stock hit an intraday all-time high of $407,750 per share on March 10 and is finishing Q1 with a gain of 12.2%.
The Class B shares also hit an all-time intraday high on March 10: $267.50 per share. Their Q1 gain is 11.4%.
Both outperformed the benchmark S&P 500 stock index, which is up 7.4%, including dividends, in the first quarter.
Here's a look at the biggest Q1 winners and losers for the stocks in Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio as of December 31, 2020. (Holdings as of yesterday, the end of the first quarter, won't be disclosed until mid-May.)
We're showing you the rankings based both on the absolute price change of the stock, and also weighted by the size of Berkshire's holding compared to the total value of its portfolio.

BERKSHIRE'S TOP U.S. STOCK HOLDINGS - MON XX 2021
Berkshire's top holdings of disclosed publicly-traded U.S. stocks by market value, based on today's closing prices.
Holdings are as of December 31, 2020 as reported in Berkshire Hathaway’s 13F filing on February 16, 2021, except for Apple, Bank of America, and U.S. Bancorp, which also include shares held as of December 31, 2020 as disclosed in New England Asset Management’s 13F filing on February 16, 2021.
In addition to U.S. stocks, shares held as of December 31, 2020 of China's BYD, as listed in Buffett's 2020 letter to shareholders, are included. The price of those shares in U.S. trading is used to approximate the current market value of the position. The value of the stake as a percentage of the company's market value is fixed at what was listed as of December 31, 2020 in the letter.
