Buffett: Don't let bad headlines affect your investing decisions

With almost everyone on Wall Street expecting the nation's economy is heading for some kind of recession later this year, it is helpful to remember Warren Buffett's long-standing advice against making investment decisions based on headlines.

 

In this clip from the 2018 Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting, he recounts his first stock trade in 1942 to illustrate his belief that no matter what’s happening in the country or in the economy, investors should remain confident in the American system and hold stocks for the long-term.

  • Apple, Bank of America, Chevron, and U.S. Bancorp, which also include shares held as of September 30, 2022 as disclosed in New England Asset Management’s 13F filing on November 14, 2022
  • BYD, which is as of January 3, 2023
